A Supply Chain officer ensures the performance of a supply chain from order to shipment to billing and customer service. This requires the Supply Chain officer to track inventory and orders as well as forecast future supply needs.

Key Accountability Areas Key Activities:

Procurement:

  • Collaborating on the detailed planning of delivery schedules for optimal operational efficiency.
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels in warehouses through active procurement efforts.
  • Assisting in ensuring suppliers maintain sufficient stock to meet ongoing demand.
  • Observing and overseeing the intricacies of the ordering and packaging processes for accuracy and compliance.
  • Contributing to the routine monitoring of stock levels to prevent shortages and avoid excess inventory.
  • Obtaining and meticulously tracking products, ensuring precise and timely deliveries to designated destinations (HQ, Regions, Mfg. centers).
  • Actively monitoring shipment progress and lead times to ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Applying just-in-time principles to optimize inventory levels and reduce holding costs.
  • Ensuring on-time deliveries through effective coordination with suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Participating in the meticulous oversight of shipment arrivals to guarantee smooth logistics.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve day-to-day procurement processes.
  • Conducting ongoing market research to identify potential suppliers and stay informed about industry trends.
  • Evaluating and selecting vendors based on performance, cost, and quality criteria.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with internal stakeholders to understand and address specific procurement needs.
  • Utilizing procurement software and systems to maintain accurate records and facilitate streamlined processes.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of practical procurement policies and procedures.
  • Conducting regular audits of procurement activities to ensure compliance with established policies and regulations.
  • Providing hands-on support in the resolution of routine procurement-related issues and disputes.
  • Develop regular reports (e.g. expense report, Inventory report, IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, goods age report, etc.) to keep management updated regularly.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Managing day-to-day relationships with suppliers to foster partnerships that yield competitive pricing and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Engaging in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms for contracts and agreements.
  • Conducting regular assessments of supplier performance, addressing any non-conformities promptly.
  • Communicate with external parties (e.g. customs authorities and/or shipping agents) to verify customs requirements and negotiate shipping costs and times.
  • Address and resolve disputes with Parts suppliers without compromising the integrity of APC’s reputation, maintaining and building mid to long-term relationships.

Safety, Health, and Environment

  • Ensuring adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and controls for employee safety, legislative compliance, and responsible environmental practices.
  • Addressing escalated instances of non-compliance with policies and procedures to cultivate a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility, mitigate risks, and safeguard APC's interests.
  • Implementing and enhancing of safety, health, and environmental management-related policies, procedures, and controls.

Policies, Processes, and Procedures:

  • Collaborate in developing and executing policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls to meet procedural and legislative requirements, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by adapting to changes in international standards, and shifts in the business environment, and embracing leading practices.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement.
  • Previous Supplier Relationship Management experience is required.
  • Previous Inventory Management knowledge and experience are preferred.

Education and Certifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Finance, or Business administration.
