About the role

As a Store Department Manager, you lead a sport department as an intrapreneur. You develop people, build a strong commercial strategy, and deliver an outstanding omnichannel customer experience — while balancing People, Planet, and Business performance. This role combines leadership, commercial ownership, and hands-on field presence.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, enrich, and take care of human capital

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop a strong and engaged team
  • Create a safe, healthy, and inclusive work environment
  • Lead with Decathlon values and foster responsibility and autonomy

Build and manage my commercial policy on priority sports

  • Leverage customer data to set clear ambitions and the right omnichannel offer.
  • Create strong digital customer experiences and activate sports communities.
  • Build seasonal plans and high-performing teams with the right people in place.

Manage the “best in class” omnichannel customer experience

  • Deliver a best-in-class customer experience on the shop floor
  • Apply selling fundamentals, layout standards, and truck-to-shelf execution
  • Manage and animate customer loyalty initiatives
  • Use customer feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure customers can find and choose products easily and independently
  • Drive commercial dynamism within the department

Performance & Business Management

  • Build and manage an annual business and team plan
  • Monitor performance and ensure forecast reliability
  • Analyze gaps between targets and results, and act accordingly
  • Optimize workforce scheduling and productivity
  • Manage action plans across People, Planet, and Business levers
  • Ensure stock availability, accuracy, and optimized stock lifetime

Guarantee daily safety and organization of the store (Duty management)

  • Ensure daily safety of people and security of goods
  • Be knowledgeable about store systems and equipment
  • Take responsibility for daily store operations during duty shifts

Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia (verbal and written);
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail store leadership role;
  • Experience in retail, store operations, or team leadership;
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset;
  • Ability to manage performance, priorities, and action plans;
  • Job location is in West Surabaya or Yogyakarta.
