Job Description
- Develop and maintain the patch management strategy and schedule for all server environments (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, etc.).
- Monitor, test, and validate patches in staging environments prior to production rollout.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams to minimize disruption and align patching windows.
- Use automated tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM, Ansible, Ivanti, ManageEngine, etc.) for patch deployment and reporting.
- Maintain detailed records of patching activities, system states, and compliance levels.
- Identify and troubleshoot patch-related issues and escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address vulnerabilities and meet compliance requirements.
- Produce regular reports on patch compliance and system health for management and audit purposes.
- Ensure all patching activities are aligned with organizational change management policies.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in system administration, IT operations, or infrastructure support.
- Proven experience in managing patch cycles for multi-platform environments (Windows, Linux/Unix).
- Proficiency in patch management tools such as Microsoft WSUS/SCCM, ManageEngine, Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, or similar.
- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation of patching tasks.
- Knowledge of security best practices and IT compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, CIS, NIST).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
