One of the largest and most well-established insurance and financial services companies: Senior IT Internal Auditor
Responsibilities:
- Assess independence and potential conflicts of interest before accepting audit engagements
- Prepare mandatory planning documents (Pre-Audit Memo, Plan of Approach) defining scope, objectives, key risks, timelines, and resource allocation
- Conduct audits according to the approved Plan of Approach, assessing key risks, controls, and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Evaluate the design, existence, and operating effectiveness of internal controls through testing, documentation review, and data analysis
- Formulate conclusions on control effectiveness and residual risks, and propose risk-based audit ratings
- Prepare and present draft and final audit reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and management responses
- Collaborate with management and auditees to agree on findings, remedial actions, and implementation timelines
- Finalize audit documentation in the Vision tool, perform post-audit evaluations, and contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies
- Ensure full compliance with International Internal Auditing Standards (IIA), the Achmea Audit Manual (AIA), the company’s Code of Conduct, and applicable regulations
- Share insights, provide guidance to colleagues, and actively support knowledge transfer and professional development within the audit team
Requirements
- BSc in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, IT, or Actuarial Science; MSc preferred
- 6–10 years of audit experience, preferably within the insurance industry
- Professional certifications (CIA, ACCA, CPA, CISA, CFE) required or to be obtained within 1–2 years
- Strong knowledge of audit software and data analytics tools (e.g., ACL, SAS) and proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Solid understanding of internal control frameworks, risk assessment, and business process analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present effectively to senior management
- Strong analytical, data-driven, and problem-solving capabilities
- Proven ability to build trustful relationships, manage conflicts constructively, and collaborate across teams and functions
- High level of integrity, independence, objectivity, and commitment to ethical standards
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs
