We are starting our recruitment process early for the Sales Manager (Technical Sales) role, which is set to commence in 2026, to ensure we build a strong candidate pool.

This role entails driving and improving sales of technical products and solutions by developing and implementing effective sales strategies, managing a team, and ensuring strong client relationships 

Responsibilities: 

Sales Strategy & Planning 

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets. 
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and recommend strategic initiatives. 
  • Set short-, medium-, and long-term sales goals aligned to business objectives. 
  • Analyze sales trends and forecasting data to guide planning and resource allocation. 

 

Technical Product Sales & Development 

  • Understand technical product features, specifications, and use cases to support effective selling. 
  • Deliver technical product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients. 
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, competitor offerings, and product innovations. 
  • Work with suppliers or internal teams to ensure accurate and updated technical product knowledge. 

 

Client Relationship Management 

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients. 
  • Identify client needs and provide tailored technical sales solutions. 
  • Manage key accounts and ensure consistent follow-ups and service delivery. 
  • Collect and communicate client feedback to support product and service improvements. 

 

Sales Operations & Administration 

  • Oversee all sales administration processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. 
  • Implement and manage systems for tracking sales performance and pipeline activity. 
  • Ensure all quotations, proposals, and sales documentation are completed timeously. 
  • Maintain accurate records and data for reporting and audit purposes. 

 

Marketing & Business Development Support 

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align product messaging and promotional campaigns. 
  • Support planning and participation in trade shows, exhibitions, demonstrations, or industry events. 
  • Assist in developing marketing materials relevant to technical product sales. 
  • Identify new business opportunities and potential market segments. 

 

Reporting & Performance Tracking 

  • Prepare twice-monthly sales performance reports for the business owner. 
  • Track team targets, individual performance, and product sales trends. 
  • Highlight risks, opportunities, and recommended improvements. 
  • Provide insights on customer feedback, market shifts, and competitor activities. 

 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Lead, motivate, and guide the sales team toward achieving targets. 
  • Provide ongoing technical product and sales training to team members. 
  • Monitor individual and team performance and provide continuous coaching. 
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and internal processes. 
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer-centric behaviour. 

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Technical Sales 
  • Strong understanding of technical products and ability to explain solutions to clients 
  • Proven sales track record 
  • Experience managing or supporting a sales team (advantageous) 
  • Computer literate (Emails, Word, Excel; CRM beneficial) 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills 
  • Valid South African Driver’s License 
  • Fluent in English (Afrikaans or an African language advantageous)
