As the Project Director for an assigned Project (i.e. a nomenclature for trade fairs), you will have the opportunity to lead and grow a successful project, driving revenue, profitability and market share. This is an exciting and challenging role that requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and competitive market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic business plans to achieve revenue, profitability and growth targets.
  • Identify and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competition to identify opportunities and develop innovative strategies.
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team to achieve business objectives, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Drive business development activities, including identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities, building relationships with key clients, and negotiating contracts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Co-create the brand and marketing strategy, oversee the development and implementation of marketing and promotional strategies for the project to achieve target attendance and participation.
  • Monitor and analyze business performance, market dynamics, and competitor activities to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and industry partners.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscape to make informed business decisions.
  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and resource management for the project.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience including project management and P&L management, in the trade fairs or events industry.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving targets.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing large-scale trade fairs.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and meticulousness.
  • Knowledge of the trade fairs industry and the ability to adapt to evolving market trends.
  • Experience in business development, sales, and negotiation.
  • Result-oriented mindset with a focus on driving performance and achieving goals.
