We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and process-driven Production Engineer to lead finishing process optimization in our furniture manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in improving surface enhancement techniques, managing material efficiency, and ensuring flawless aesthetics and durability in final products. This role is critical to elevating production standards through systematic improvement of finishing operations, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and improve surface finishing workflows across product categories.
- Develop and implement SOPs for material preparation, surface treatment, and finish application.
- Introduce process improvements to enhance finish consistency, reduce rework, and improve material utilization.
- Supervise and train technical staff on best practices in finish application and visual inspection.
- Ensure safe handling of application materials and adherence to health/environmental protocols.
- Maintain correct application ratios, drying conditions, and finish thickness standards.
- Candidates with experience in the coating or paint industry will be preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (preferably SAP) for production tracking, reporting, and documentation.
- Ability to prepare clear reports, SOPs, and technical documentation for management and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in surface treatment or finishing processes within a manufacturing setup (preferably wood-based or modular products).
- Hands-on experience with manual or semi-automated application techniques (HVLP spray, roller coaters, drying ovens).
- Deep understanding of wood surface treatment, coating systems, and aesthetic finishing methods.
- Familiarity with process control metrics, defect analysis, and finishing equipment maintenance.
