SUMMARY:
- The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment with Camp Hill School District is $18.00/hour
- Special Education Paraprofessionals may support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills Support
OPENINGS:
- High School Learning Support Paraprofessional (1 position):
- This position has two main functions:
- Pushes into academic classrooms to support students one-on-one and in small groups
- Runs learning support study halls for smaller groups of students to support their progress through schoolwork in an environment with fewer distractions
- Requires a candidate with initiative and willingness to jump in and assist students in the classroom environment and flexibility to assist in covering other positions when other paras are on leave
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM with a half-hour unpaid lunch
- Middle / High School Life Skills Support Paraprofessional (1 position): 100 S. 24th St, Camp Hill, PA
- Schedule: 7:30am - 3:00pm on all student and PL days (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
- The position assists students in Grades 6-12 in small group and large group instruction in the Life Skills Support classroom. The position also supports the students around the building and in the community on transition activities. Safe Crisis Management training (provided by the District) is required.
- Elementary Autistic Support Paraprofessional (1 positions): Hoover Elementary School, 420 S 24th St, Camp Hill, PA 17011
- Schedule: 7:50am - 3:20pm on all student and PL days (30 minute unpaid lunch break)
- Work will be in a classroom with higher need students and will provide behavioral support in the classroom and instruction in language acquisition. The District will support training with AAC devices.
- Some push-in support to specials
- Assist students with toileting. Materials, including gloves and wipes, will be provided.
Requirements
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma required. For Title I positions - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB
- Associates or Bachelors Degree - preferred
- Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred

- PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
- PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
- PA Department of Education FBI
- TB Screening
- Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
- Safe Crisis Management Training (district will provide on a work day)
