SUMMARY:

  • The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in Pottsgrove School District is $19/hour
  • The Special Education Paraprofessional will work on student days following the academic calendar year
  • Special Education Paraprofessionals will support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills

CURRENT NEEDS:

  • Elementary Multiple Disabilities Classroom: 8:20am - 3:50pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
  • Elementary Emotional Support Classroom: 8:20am - 3:50pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)
  • High School 1:1 for Autistic Support: 7am - 2:30pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide assistance to students with special needs who have IEPs or 504 plans.
  • Reinforcing learning concepts and skills.
  • Working with students individually or in small groups.
  • Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress.
  • Managing students behavior and ensuring a safe learning environment.
  • Supervising students during lunch, arrivals/dismissals, and other non-instructional areas.
  • Directly support students at the direction of classroom teacher and building Principal.

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma and completion of Paraprofessional competency training OR
  • Two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits), Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred

CREDENTIALING :

*CCRES paid clearances and TB

(Clearances current within 12 months)

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI
  • TB Screening - current within 3 months
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
