Diagnostic Nuclear Medicine & Nuclear Cardiology
- Perform a comprehensive range of diagnostic procedures with precision and accuracy
- Conduct and document routine quality control on imaging equipment
- Review physician orders for clinical appropriateness
- Prepare patients and safely administer radiopharmaceuticals
- Insert IV catheters as needed
- Acquire and process images using gamma cameras, PACS, and nuclear medicine management systems
- Identify and troubleshoot technical or clinical issues in real time
Radiopharmaceutical Preparation
- Prepare, calculate, and order radiopharmaceutical doses
- Manage Tc99m kits and bulk radiopharmacy supplies
- Ensure sterile technique and quality control compliance for all doses
Radioactive Material Management
- Oversee ordering, receiving, distribution, and storage of radioactive materials and waste
- Maintain full compliance with hospital, departmental, and New York State regulations
Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine
- Coordinate therapy planning with radiologists and referring providers
- Verify pre-test requirements and documentation
- Safely administer therapeutic doses with strict adherence to radiation safety procedures
Mobile Nuclear Cardiology
- Travel to various physician offices across NY and PA using a mobile gamma camera system
- Safely transport, set up, and operate mobile imaging equipment
- Work independently in diverse clinical environments alongside physicians and nurses
Patient Care
- Deliver compassionate, age-appropriate care from neonates to geriatric patients
- Prioritize patient safety, comfort, and communication throughout all procedures
Compliance & Ongoing Education
- Participate in accreditation processes and uphold departmental policies
- Maintain required certifications and continuing education credits
- Attend annual trainings and professional development programs
Customer Service Excellence
- Provide friendly, attentive, professional interactions with every patient
- Support a positive, reassuring patient experience at every touchpoint
Requirements
- Current certification or eligibility through NMTCB or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine)
- 2- or 4-year degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (preferred)
- Eligibility for New York State Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensure
- Valid driver's license and insurability
- BLS certification (required within 90 days of hire)
- Experience: One year preferred — motivated new graduates are strongly encouraged to apply!
