The Key Account Executive is a critical client-facing role responsible for driving strategic account management, strengthening client relationships, and maximising business value from key accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering sales, preferably within the oil and gas sector with a proven ability to manage complex accounts, deliver solutions, and identify growth opportunities. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with at least 5 years of relevant sales experience, particularly in engineering services involving rotating equipment, valves, and actuators.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management & Strategic Execution

  • Acquire a deep understanding of each client's business model, goals, needs, and operational requirements.
  • Act as the primary interface between the client and the company’s relevant divisions to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
  • Conduct weekly client visits to enhance relationships, provide updates, resolve concerns, and explore new business opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up on client activities, including investments, divestments, projects, and industry trends to build a robust opportunity pipeline.
  • Track account activity from lead generation to final payment and ensure timely closure of account cycles.

Business Development & Opportunity Management

  • Proactively identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell solutions within existing accounts.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the competitive landscape, including major players in the supply and services side of the industry.
  • Deliver key insights to the business by monitoring market activity and client project development.
  • Support tender processes, contract negotiations, and proposal submissions in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Ensure products and services are delivered to clients according to agreed specifications and timelines.
  • Prepare and submit timely visit reports, highlighting key observations, opportunities, and follow-up actions.
  • Compile regular progress and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics.

Requirements

  • Education: B.Sc. / B.Tech in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in sales, preferably in the oil and gas sector or engineering services industry.
  • IT Proficiency: Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and strong internet research skills.

  • Technical understanding of engineering services, especially in rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes), valves, and actuators.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across various organizational levels.
