Job Profile : AIX Support Engineer – L3 Support (5+ Years)
Senior engineer responsible for design, architecture & lifecycle modernization security
of enterprise systems of IBM Power & AIX infra, including virtualization & high availability.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect AIX infrastructure and migration strategies
• Provision frames (PODs), configure Shared Processor Pools
• Execute Live Partition Mobility (LPM) across frames at scale
• Design & automate NIM Master for build/restore
• Lead VIOS upgrades, virtualization planning & VTM deployments
• PowerHA cluster design, upgrades & DR failover testing
• Lead SAN tech refresh, storage copy services, zero-downtime moves
• Performance & capacity planning for enterprise workloads
• SPOC for vendor engagement and critical incident management
• Mentor L1/L2 teams and approve production changes
• Ensure compliance, audit readiness & risk mitigation
Required Technical Skills
• Expert in AIX administration, cross-version migrations
• PowerVM architecture + resource pooling strategy
• VIOS redundancy design & firmware lifecycle management
• LPM execution, readiness validation & migration planning
• NIM Master deployment, automation scripting
• PowerHA implementation & cluster troubleshooting
• SAN virtualization, zoning strategy & performance tuning
• Power server hardware commissioning
• HMC installation, upgrade & multi-frame management

Educational Qualification
