The Role: Freelance Chat-Based Customer Advisor

As a Freelance Chat-Based Customer Advisor, you will join a distributed team of professionals who handle live chat tasks for our growing client base. Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound customer inquiries via live chat software in a professional and timely manner.
  • Handle multiple simultaneous chat conversations without sacrificing quality.
  • Escalate complex cases to senior support agents when appropriate.
  • Maintain a strong customer satisfaction score by delivering accurate, empathetic responses.
  • Keep personal product and service knowledge up to date through regular training sessions.
  • Identify and flag recurring issues to the team lead for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with teammates asynchronously using Slack or similar platforms.
  • Follow approved scripts and response templates while adapting tone to individual customers.

Requirements

  • Available to commit to a minimum of 15–20 hours per week during scheduled shifts.
  • Strong written English communication skills — clear, professional, and empathetic.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM accurately under moderate time pressure.
  • No prior experience required — comprehensive paid training provided upon hire.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to maintain focus and productivity in a home environment.
