The Finance Manager will support one of the organisation’s emerging business units during a period of rapid growth, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective oversight of day-to-day accounting operations. The role is hands-on and suited to a commercially minded finance professional who can operate independently within a small team environment.
- Manage end-to-end financial operations for the business unit, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Maintain accounting practices related to R&D activities, technology development costs, and inventory management.
- Handle Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll processes (approximately one day per week).
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, statutory obligations, and accounting standards.
- Provide financial modelling, budgeting support, and scenario analysis to assist with commercial decision-making.
- Assist with year-end processes, audits, and tax-related requirements.
- Operate independently while collaborating with senior leadership as needed.
- Implement and improve financial processes, reporting frameworks, and operational systems to support business growth.
- Provide financial guidance to operational teams and assist with interpreting results and performance indicators.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (required).
- CPA or CA qualification (highly regarded).
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a Finance Manager or senior accounting role.
- Experience in technology, R&D-heavy, or high-growth environments (preferred but not required).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including R&D and inventory accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Experience managing AP, AR, and Payroll functions.
- High proficiency with financial systems, reporting tools, and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
- Comfortable working within a small business unit with evolving processes and structures.
Note: Recruitment for this role is expected to begin in early January. While we may review applications beforehand, most interviews will take place in the New Year.
