The Volunteer’s Role

Are you interested in empowering Afro-descendant communities and contributing to the success of their businesses?

We are seeking a volunteer to assist the Foundation Activos Culturales Afro (ACUA) in Colombia with enhancing visibility, managing brand reputation, implementing marketing strategies, and promoting e-commerce for products and services from traditional and cultural enterprises.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Enhance the visibility and presence of the brand across a diverse range of social media platforms, utilizing strategic campaigns to engage our target audience effectively.
  • Teach and coach employees on innovative marketing strategies and best practices pertaining to e-commerce, focusing particularly on how to effectively market conventional products in today's digital landscape.
  • Design, develop, and support comprehensive training sessions aimed at educating employees on the intricacies of brand management, ensuring that our organizational standards are met and our brand identity is consistently represented across all channels.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience or coursework in gender issues, advocacy, and/or sustainable development.

Essential Background:

  • Familiarity with economic development methods and practices that prioritize social and environmental considerations.
  • Background in communications positions and proficiency with social media platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Volunteer Support and Requirements 

Support Package

Cuso International provides a comprehensive support package to ensure volunteers maintain a modest and healthy lifestyle aligned with local standards. This includes:

Selection and Screening

If you are shortlisted, you will need to: 

  • Confirm passport or permanent resident details for travel 
  • Provide two professional references and one personal reference 
  • Complete a language assessment during the initial phone interview 
  • Pass a police check and medical clearance before departure 
  • Comply with anti-terrorism checks 
  • Agree to uphold the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy and Code of Conduct
