Design Quality Assurance Engineer

AHS
Full-time
On-site
Remote

AHS is seeking a detail-driven and technically strong Design Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the highest standards of quality, precision, and design integrity are achieved across our luxury real estate projects.

This is a site-based role focused on monitoring the execution of design intent during construction and fit-out stages. The ideal candidate will act as the link between design documentation and on-site delivery, ensuring that all materials, finishes, and workmanship meet AHS’s standards for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Documentation Review

·        Review architectural, ID, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with approved design intent, coordination, and constructability.

·        Check that materials, finishes, and detailing specified in design documentation are practical, available, and correctly represented in site execution plans.

·        Track all design changes and ensure revisions are reviewed, approved, and implemented correctly.

On-Site Quality Assurance

·        Conduct regular inspections of ongoing works to verify that the contractor’s materials, methods, and workmanship comply with approved designs and project specifications.

·        Monitor joinery, stonework, metalwork, glazing, and finishing installations for quality consistency, detailing accuracy, and alignment with AHS design standards.

·        Assist in review, sign off on mock-ups, and sample installations, ensuring they accurately reflect the approved design intent before full implementation.

·        Identify non-conformances or deviations from approved details and coordinate with contractors and consultants for corrective actions.

·        Ensure materials delivered to site match the approved submittals and are installed per manufacturer’s recommendations and design requirements.

Coordination & Reporting

·        Work closely with consultants, design teams, and site management to resolve technical or aesthetic issues during execution.

·        Prepare and issue Design QA Reports documenting observations, deviations, and required corrective measures.

·        Participate in site coordination meetings to discuss progress, quality issues, and technical clarifications.

·        Maintain a Design QA tracker to monitor compliance, approvals, and outstanding actions.

·        Provide feedback to design and procurement teams to enhance future project specifications and detailing standards.

Continuous Improvement

·        Assist in developing standard QA/QC checklists, inspection procedures, and reporting templates for design execution.

·        Support post-completion reviews to capture lessons learned and integrate them into AHS’s design delivery framework.

Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering.

·        3–5 years’ experience in design QA, site supervision, or design coordination within high-end or luxury developments.

·        Strong understanding of architectural detailing, finishes, materials, and installation techniques.

·        Proven ability to assess workmanship and material quality on-site.

·        Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and standard QA documentation tools.

·        Excellent attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.

·        Working knowledge of UAE building codes, standards, and quality assurance protocols.

·        Ability to work proactively on site, balancing design intent with practical construction constraints.
