About the role

We are seeking a technically proficient Data Analyst specializing in regulatory reporting within the banking industry, with expertise in Databricks, Python, and SQL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and analyzing complex financial and risk data, performing advanced data analysis and modeling, and collaborating across finance, risk, and data teams. Responsibilities include ensuring timely, accurate, and reliable regulatory reports that support compliance, leveraging automation tools, and streamlining data processes for efficiency.

What you'll be doing

  • Data Management & Analysis

- Collect, clean, and transform large datasets from core banking systems and data warehouses.

- Ensure data integrity and consistency for regulatory and financial reporting purposes.

- Conduct variance analysis and reconcile data between source systems and reporting outputs.

  • Automation & Process Optimization

- Design and implement automated workflows for recurring regulatory reports.

- Identify opportunities to streamline data pipelines and reduce manual intervention.

  • Governance & Documentation

- Maintain detailed documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and data sources used in IFRS/ECL calculations.

- Ensure adherence to data governance and internal control frameworks.

  • Regulatory Reporting Compliance

- Develop, maintain, and execute models for IFRS 9/ECL compliance, including staging and impairment calculations.

- Collaborate with Risk and Finance teams to interpret model outputs and integrate them into financial statements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience working in the banking industry.
  • Previous experience with IFRS/ECL frameworks is preferred.
  • Strong skills in Python, SQL, Databricks, and data modeling.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong English communication.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
