Voulgaris Hospitality Group is looking for an experienced Chief Engineer to join our team during Pre-Opening Period (Construction) and organize the maintenance department to support opening and Hotel operation of our new hotel unit in island of Milos.

As the Chief Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the infrastructure and facilities of our hotel units. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our properties, providing a comfortable and enjoyable environment for our guests. You will be responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, managing a team of skilled technicians, and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction activities on behalf of the owner, to ensure the optimal functionality of our hotel units in pre-opening period
  • Supervise hotel construction budget and handle VHG assets
  • Work with external suppliers and contractors to complete projects according to quality standards and schedules.
  • Recruit and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure their professional development
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency
  • Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance, to ensure the optimal functionality of our hotel units
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address facility needs, ensuring a seamless experience for guests
  • Oversee the procurement and inventory management of spare parts, tools, and equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections of the properties to identify potential issues and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and ensure the implementation of best practices in maintaining a safe working environment
  • Training and developing the skills of the maintenance team to effectively troubleshoot and ensure high quality service.

Requirements

  • Engineering education or a related field
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or construction industry
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and maintenance techniques
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software will be considered an additional qualification
  • Knowledge of ISO, BMS, EIB, LMS systems will be considered an additional qualification
