Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (OT) for a top Healthcare client.
This highly specialized Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering specific hand therapy treatment modalities as prescribed by a licensed physician in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The therapist provides age-specific direct care services to patients across the lifespan, coordinates supportive staff duties, and plays a key role in continuous performance improvement and effective resource utilization.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient condition and develop comprehensive, individualized occupational therapy (OT) treatment plans for hand and upper extremity issues.
- Direct and administer specialized OT modalities and treatments as prescribed by the licensed physician in the assigned setting (inpatient and/or outpatient).
- Coordinate, delegate, and supervise responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (e.g., COTAs or aides).
- Provide age-specific direct care services to patients across the entire lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric populations.
- Demonstrate effective resource utilization, ensuring operational stability and efficiency within the department.
- Communicate with the interdisciplinary team and assist in resolving patient care or operational problems promptly.
- Participate actively in performance improvement initiatives, program growth, and required organizational safety programs (infection control, fire safety, etc.).
Requirements
Education
- Four (4) Year Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program is required (implied by degree).
Experience
- One (1) to two (2) years of Hand Therapist experience is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses
- Occupational Therapy Florida State License is required.
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification is highly desirable (implied by the job title).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

- Proven expertise in specialized hand therapy treatment modalities and techniques.
- Strong ability to coordinate, delegate, and supervise supportive staff responsibilities effectively.
