Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Cardiac Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a top Healthcare client.
This core role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, specializing in the management of cardiac and medical-surgical patients. The RN provides personalized, compassionate care by utilizing established nursing models, acts as a patient and family advocate, and collaborates with the care team to achieve positive clinical outcomes that align with the organization's vision and standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess the patient's cardiac and general medical-surgical condition during admission and each shift, promptly identifying and reporting any status changes.
- Perform procedures, specialized monitoring, and other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of all care administration.
- Administer prescribed medications safely, monitor the patient for therapeutic responses, and take appropriate action in the event of any unintended effects.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's condition, treatment plan, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- Provide exceptional care by proactively anticipating patient needs, responding promptly to requests, and ensuring complex issues are resolved.
- Act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, consistently embodying the organization's mission and values.
- Ensure all care provided is in line with departmental requirements and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
Requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required (implied by degree).
Experience
- Acute Care RN experience is REQUIRED.
- Must be within the last three (3) years unless the candidate has multiple years of RN experience, in which case it may be within the last five (5) years.
- Prior experience in a Cardiac, Telemetry, or high-acuity Med-Surg unit is highly desirable (implied by the job title).
Certifications/Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the relevant state is required (implied by the job title 'Registered Nurse').
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
