Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

The Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is the financial architect and strategic partner driving the growth, governance, and capital strategy across a group of technology, AI, and hospitality ventures. Working directly with the Co-Founders and leadership teams, the CFO will own end-to-end financial leadership across multiple entities and jurisdictions, balancing hands-on execution with long-term strategic planning.

This role is suited for a builder—someone who thrives in ambiguity, scales systems from scratch, and partners closely with founders in a fast-moving, international environment.

Must-have Skills / Qualification:

  • 5–10+ years of progressive experience in senior finance leadership roles (e.g., Financial Controller, Head of Finance, CFO).
  • Proven experience operating in high-growth, entrepreneurial, or scale-up environments.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for group-level finance across multiple legal entities.
  • Hands-on experience managing finance operations across multiple jurisdictions (minimum: Philippines and Hong Kong)
  • Direct experience supporting or leading fundraising activities, including:
  • Financial modeling and projections
  • Investor materials and due diligence support
  • Prior exposure to international stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and optimize new tools and workflows.
  • High level of integrity, ownership, and accountability.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Group Financial Leadership & Strategy

• Define and execute the group’s overall financial strategy aligned with long-term growth objectives.

• Act as a strategic business partner to the Co-Founders and executive leadership, providing financial insights that drive decision-making.

• Lead group-level financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling.

• Oversee capital structure planning, financing strategies, and M&A or investment evaluations.

• Represent the group in discussions with investors, banks, financial institutions, and key stakeholders.

2. Fundraising & Investor Relations

• Develop and execute the group’s fundraising strategy to support growth and strategic initiatives.

• Lead equity and debt fundraising rounds, including financial modeling, due diligence, and negotiations.

• Prepare investor presentations, pitch decks, financial models, and valuation narratives.

• Manage data rooms, investment documentation, and compliance with investor covenants.

• Oversee ongoing investor reporting, communication, and performance updates.

3. Capital, Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Maintain accurate rolling cash flow forecasts (3, 6, and 12 months) across all entities.

• Lead capital allocation, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.

• Build scenario-based cash flow and risk models to support executive decisions.

• Manage banking, lender, and payment partner relationships across jurisdictions.

• Oversee foreign exchange strategy, intercompany transactions, and fund transfers.

• Ensure sufficient liquidity while optimizing returns on idle funds.

4. Accounting, Controllership & Reporting

• Oversee group-wide accounting policies and ensure consistency and IFRS compliance.

• Supervise consolidation of financial statements across multiple legal entities.

• Own and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

• Review and approve key journal entries, management accounts, and financial reports.

• Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting to management, board members, and investors.

• Produce Board-ready decks highlighting KPIs, risks, trends, and opportunities.

5. Audit, Tax & Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with regulatory, statutory, and tax requirements across jurisdictions (Philippines, Hong Kong, and others).

• Oversee external audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting.

• Maintain strong corporate governance, internal controls, and financial SOPs.

• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies.

6. Finance Operations & Systems

• Design and scale finance operations, processes, and controls suitable for high-growth businesses.

• Drive automation, system integration, and process optimization across accounting, FP&A, payroll, and reporting.

• Ensure effective use of finance tools and platforms (e.g., Xero, Joiin, Airtable, Wise, Airwallex).

• Maintain documentation, workflows, and financial data integrity across systems.

7. Finance Team Leadership

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team across entities.

• Own the Finance Department Manual and onboarding framework.

• Set clear goals, KPIs, and accountability for finance team members.

• Conduct regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.

• Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.

8. Business Partnership & Commercial Support

• Partner with Service Delivery, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure accurate billing, margin control, and profitability.

• Oversee revenue recognition, cost control, and pricing support.

• Collaborate with HR on compensation structures, headcount planning, and workforce cost optimization.

• Support founders in financial modeling for new products, services, pricing strategies, and expansion initiatives.

• Support real estate and hospitality expansion projects, including development and operational financial planning
