The Assistant Director of Finance will support the financial operations of our organization, contributing to strategic financial planning and management. This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, assisting with audits, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. As a key member of the finance team, this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Monitor daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Support the Director of Finance in managing cash flow and liquidity to meet the organization's financial obligations.
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and enhance internal controls.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Work closely with department heads to assess financial needs and provide support for operational decision-making.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as directed by the Director of Finance, including technology upgrades and process enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA) is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry is required.
